I felt an incredible sense of accomplishment and pride seeing my collection of woven and printed fabrics together, on display for the first time. It was also a great opportunity to see all of the work of my classmates, some of it for the first time. As a group we all have such different styles and ideas, its going to create an amazingly eclectic exhibition. I love that you can see all of our different personalities in our work.
As exciting as graduating is, it is also quite a bit terrifying as well! I have spent the past 2 years working and focusing on getting to this point. Aside from breathing a sigh of relief and spending some time relaxing, I am now faced with some serious thinking and big decisions to make. Now the pressure of production for assessment is off I plan to spend some more time in the RMIT studios, weaving and printing a few more pieces for myself. I will also be preparing for the exhibition, so plenty to do in the next 3 - 4 weeks. I am determined to enjoy this period of freedom to think about possibilities for the future whilst continuing weaving and printing.
